I feel like gender expression could fit between sex and gender in your comparison, because imo it's the real "identity" that's presented into the social space.

I know it probably is a part of the liberal conception of identity, but I feel it's more accurate to talk about it rather than sex in the social perception discussion

(I may be biased and delusional as a pre-op trans woman, but that's a thought that came to me while reading the 2nd part of the article)

okay I had my answer in the 5th part, sex and gender are inseparable because "both describe different aspects of an embodied social process".
